The Friends of the Earth Fife group hold our regular monthly meetings on the last Monday of each month. The meetings start at 7.30pm and finish around 9pm. New members are always welcome!
Date of our next meeting: Monday August 30th 2010. (We’re taking July off on holiday!)
We currently meet in the Greener Kirkcaldy centre, at 222 High Street, Kirkcaldy, KY1 1JT (at the bottom of Kirk Wynd).
Kirkcaldy Green Drinks is a informal, social gathering for anyone who is involved in (or just interested in) environmental issues. Green Drinks is an international network of people who meet up monthly to chat, debate or network over a drink.
The organisers hold the Drinks monthly, on the second Saturday of each month. For more details, see the Kirkcaldy Green Drinks webpage or email kirkcaldygreendrinks-owner[@]yahoogroups.co.uk.
Big Tent 2009 is Scotland’s biggest eco-festival and takes place in Falkland on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th July. Friends of the Earth Fife will be there, in the Climate Champion’s Zone, where we will have a stall telling people about our work, and also some fun and creative activities for all ages.
We are also running ‘Slim Your Bin’ waste reduction workshops at 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, in the Food Zone. These are a fun interactive way to learn about and reduce household waste.
This year’s festival will include loads of new stuff like: the Climate Challenge Ceilidh, a Climate Champion’s Zone, Earth Action Talks with WWF Scotland, a Family Zone, a brand new Wood Zone, plus the return of the celebrated Food Village. And of course lots of live music. For more details see the Big Tent website.
