Our Events and Meetings
Youth Politics Festival, Halbeath, 23rd Aug 2008
This event is aimed at people between 12 and 25 to tell the Scottish
Parliament what they think. Friends of the Earth will be helping participants understand the
problems of climate change. As it says in the introduction, "this isn't
for those who want to sit quietly and just listen to politicians - your
participation is essential!"

Elmwoodstock music festival, Cupar, 6th Sept 2008
Friends of the Earth will have a stall and display at this
new music festival and we hope to see you there. Elmwoodstock takes place
on Saturday 6th September, from 1pm until 9pm, in the grounds of Elmwood College, Cupar, Fife.
The festival will star Idlewild, Glenrothes band Sergeant, The Hazey Janes, State
of Affairs, Wolfstone, and Stars from the Commitments.
Profits from the day will go to Friends of the Earth Scotland.

Film Showing, Kirkcaldy - The 11th Hour on 5th Oct 2008
Friends of the Earth Fife are hosting a film showing on Sunday 5th October at the
Adam Smith Theatre in Kirkcaldy. The price will be £4.50 (with a special
price of £2.50 for concessions),
and the start time will be 7.30pm.
Leonardo DiCaprio's The 11th Hour is a documentary concerning the environmental crises caused by human actions and calls for restorative action through a reshaping of human activity. The screening will include an opportunity to discuss the issues
raised by the film.
Our Meetings
The Friends of the Earth Fife group hold our regular monthly meetings on the last
Monday of each month (e.g. 25th August 2008). The meetings start at 7.30pm and finish
around 9pm.
Our July meeting will be the group's Annual General Meeting, to which all members
are welcome to come.
We currently meet in the Ship Tavern in Kinghorn, close to the train station and
to local bus stops.

Other Events
Kirkcaldy Green Drinks
Kirkcaldy Green Drinks is a new, informal, social gathering for anyone who is involved
in (or just interested in) environmental issues.
Green Drinks is an international network of people who meet up monthly to
chat, debate or network over a drink.
The organisers plan to hold the Drinks monthly, on the second Saturday of each month.
The next Green Drinks will be on September 13th 2008.

The Friends of the Earth Edinburgh local group hosts a public talk every month,
