Our Other Campaigns

As well as our main areas of interest (climate change, waste and local food), our members also take part in a range of other campaigns.

ForthRight Alliance

Friends of the Earth Fife is a member of the ForthRight Alliance, the campaign alliance against the construction of a Second Forth Road Bridge. We believe that the Scottish government is rushing into planning a second bridge before it has fully explored all of the options to maintain and preserve the existing bridge. Repairs to the bridge may well be possible, and we feel that demand should be managed and public transport improved, rather than building a new bridge which will be expensive and environmentally damaging, both by its construction and by the inevitable increases to traffic that will result.

Planning and Consultations

When we feel we can contribute, we respond to local or national government consultations about planning or legislation changes. The Planning and Consultations section of this site contains details of the consultations that we have been involved in.

Letters to the Press

Our group sometimes writes to our local newspapers about environmental issues we feel strongly about. The Letters page of this website has copies of the letters that we have sent.
